I think it's a bit of bad luck (he does have a low BABIP and a high LD rate, so you would expect his BABIP to go up) but he's also showing a really bad approach relative to what he's done in the minors and did last year, and he's making a whole lot of weak contact to go along with it.
But even if his BABIP were to go up, he's still not walking enough, he's still striking out, and he's not hitting for power, so it's not like if a couple of hits fall in, everything's honky dory. He's all kinds of fucked up right now.poopComment

Probably the most encouraging game of the year so far for him. 11 (?) pitch AB leading to a single over the short stop, and then a nice late inning walk.
