  • Petersen Optioned, Rowand Released; Cogs and Kearns Likely in

Total opposite of what I "predicted." JD Martin and Nick Green were also reassigned. Solano still remains though.

    Marlins released OF Aaron Rowand.
Rowand has looked terrible this spring, batting just .128 (6-for-47) with one extra-base hit and eight strikeouts, so this was an expected move. One wonders if the 34-year-old will call it a career at this point.
Marlins optioned OF Bryan Petersen to Triple-A New Orleans.
Petersen didn't exactly play poorly this spring, batting .250 (11-for-44) with a homer and four stolen bases, but sometimes having options left works against you at this time of the year. Austin Kearns and Chris Coghlan now both have a pretty good shot to be with the team on Opening Day. The Marlins also reassigned right-hander J.D. Martin and infielder Nick Green to minor league camp.

Oh, didn't see it. It deserves it's own thread though. Coughlin is back!

Was the misspelling of Coghlan here suppose to be a joke?

LAA looking to trade Abreu, not sure if there is a spot for him, but he is very close with Ozzie & Zambrano.

I'd wait until they release him then think about going after him. He's not worth giving up anyone at this point. Would be cool if he did figure it back out again though.

he'd be cool if we had a DH

but we don't have a DH

                        so no
