That said, I have also never had season tickets. How late is this relative to other seasons? How late is it relative to other teams moving in to a new stadium? (you can't really compare an organization like the Red Sox where all of their season ticket holders have had them for decades and thus knows exactly what to expect with an organization that is getting a ton of new interest and brand new sales that presumably ramp up as the season approaches.)
I assume they held off until now because they thought they'd get more season ticket packages sold as more press centered on the ballpark and people got a chance to visit through things like FanFest or the soft openings.
I don't think they deserve blame beyond simply saying they mismanaged a situation carrying with it foreseeable demand.
