again, going from the left side of the diamond to the right is quite easy

him making that move would be pretty seamless

What is going to improve his value more - learning to hit and get on base or being able to play second base?
I think you're overestimating how difficult that transition would be. We're not asking him to play wide receiver here. You're changing the angle in which groundballs come at him.

Beyond that, I can guarantee he's played second base in his lifetime.

One home run every 29.9 at bats in the minors for Feliz.
One every 30.03 at bats for Dominguez while being 3 years younger than Feliz at every stop.

Feliz had an XBH in 9% of his ABs in the minors. Dominguez is at 9.4%. Again, three years young at every level.

I don't think there's much reason to believe Dominuez can't be at least Pedro Feliz with the bat.

I did not say that Dominguez could not be Feliz

Using "though" would seem to imply that you didn't think he could. My apologies.

Maybe I am overestimating the transition but I think you are not considering the additional stress you are placing on him by switching the position.

And it isn't like we know he will be ready at some point this season so explain what you gain by switching his position now. Let him show off his ability to hit while he is in his comfort zone (he hasn't played an inning off third since high school or earlier) for awhile and then transition him into second base for a month or so before getting the call.

And as Mainge already mentioned he is suppose to be slow and have mediocre range so explain how the defensive transition will be so perfect. Increased range is more of a necessity at second than third. And you already have an adequate starter at the position so he needs to be able to outperform that player to make it worth calling him up.

I don't see any benefit to changing his position at this point in time. I'm not saying that it might not be the right move to make in the future. It just makes a lot more sense to keep him at third right now.

I think there's plenty of reasons that he won't be a good defensive 2B. I just don't think it will affect his hitting.

I think it could potentially affect his development at the plate. There isn't a guarantee but there is without a doubt a risk.
So why would you be willing to make the switch now? I think it's pretty much guaranteed he would not be able to hit enough to make him pass infante on the depth chart at the moment.

I think he could probably give you close to Infante production at this point. So if you think he could play the position, it would make him useful. It gives you one more option for the future.
