He struck out but he was hitting with a blind fold on since he got bored.

                  Forget the slugging, he's on-basing .505.

What the hell else does he need to do?

                      • Didn't Fredi say that if Stanton tore up AA he would get a call up? His bat has been telling them he's ready for a couple weeks now. I wonder who's going to go on the "DL" to open a spot for Mike. There's no way he goes another week without being called up if he keeps it up

                        • I think Fredi said he has to decapitate someone before he would get called up.

                          here is the quote...

"We sent him down, but he'll let us know when he's ready," Gonzalez said Wednesday before his team began warming up to take on the Minnesota Twins at Hammond Stadium. "It's just a matter of him getting some at-bats and putting up some numbers or decapitating somebody down there. Maybe the league president will say get this guy out of here before he hurts somebody."

Still to early to give up on Maybin/Coghlan, still can send him to AAA which is increased competition, and I know you like to gloss over the financials, but keeping him down for 35-40 more days secures an extra year of service time and makes a buyout easier 2-3 years down the road. All very important things.

                            • Glossing over financials?

If the kid is ready, he's fucking ready. It'd be one thing if he were being held down because we have more capable players at the big league level, but we don't.

Here's a financial: post season revenue.
