We've never had someone with this sort of historic potential that I can remember. I've never seen numbers that have made me so incredulous. His OBP is .505!!! More than half the time, he's on base.

Mike Stanton: 50% of the time, he gets on base every time.

I have a gut feeling he's very close to being called up to the big leagues. He can't do much more at AA then what he's been doing, I think he's knocking on the Marlins door right now telling them he's ready.
I believe the only issue right now is a roster spot for Stanton, I don't think there's any way you send Maybin back down, another demotion for Maybin might be brutal mentally for him.

I wouldn't pay attention to last years numbers in AA. He's been a lot more selective at the plate this season and most of his hits have been for extra bases. His numbers right now are outstanding. He seems to have mastered AA, pitchers don't even want to pitch to him, and when they do he makes them pay.

I think the best prospect in organizational history is Beckett and I don't know if Stanton's there yet.
.365/.429/.609 (1.038) 10 HR, 59 RBI (69 G)
That's pretty good
Beckett in 2001:
14-1, 1.54 ERA 25 GS 203 K 34 BB
