  • Except Miguel grew up playing the left side and was in left partly because of necessity and partly because our best OF (at least arm) was Encarnacion in right. It's a waste to have his arm in left.

There's no good argument as to why Stanton should be our LF. Cody can move, Cogs can sit, you name it. RF is Stanton's long term, give it to him.

    • The FO probably feels Cody is a better OFer right now.

Not that big of a deal.

                    • • The Marlins have discussed a June 7-12 range as the timetable to promote Michael Stanton to the majors, but it's not definite. ``Stanton is a workaholic -- he could be another Albert Pujols, but don't put him in the Hall of Fame yet,'' said Marlins advisor Jack McKeon, who has scouted him. ``He'll hit enough mistakes to be impressive.'' But he cautioned against assuming Stanton will do what Miguel Cabrera did when he was called up in 2003 (62 RBI in 87 games)

Florida Marlins: Mike Stanton homers again — twice; promotion imminent?
                          by: Juan C. Rodriguez June 1st, 2010 | 8:18 PM

Marlins President of Baseball Operations Larry Beinfest was on hand Tuesday to witness Mike Stanton’s 19th and 20th homers for Double-A Jacksonville. Staton hit one to right and one to left, the second coming on an 0-2 pitch. Don’t be surprised if Beinfest comes home with Stanton in tow.

Jason Heyward is already in the majors. The Nationals announced Stephen Strasburg will make his major league debut on June 8. Stanton isn’t far behind. Beinfest’s purpose in Jacksonville might ultimately be twofold: To get one last reassuring look at Stanton and to personally tell him he’s going to the show.

Stanton started in right field again Tuesday. He got a handful of games in left as well. He could see time at both spots in the majors depending on whether Cameron Maybin or Chris Coghlan is in the lineup. The days Maybin plays, Ross would be in right and Stanton in left. Ross would shift to center when Coghlan is in left, leaving right for Stanton.

The one thing that’s certain is when Stanton arrives, he’s playing.
cool, Stanton picked up his game since Larry was at the park
