  • Marlins Sign Mark Buerhle to 4 Year, $58 Million Deal

Let this thread be a clearinghouse for Buerhle news throughout the silly season.

    What we know
    • Todd says it won't be happen, so it probably will
    • Played for Guillen for a significant amount of time
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

There must always be a Buerhle in Chicagofell.

If Bran Buerhle stays in Chicagofell, then Mark can become the Hand.

I'm assuming the meeting is in Chicago since there must be a Buehrle in Chicagofell at the time.

                  Staff report
                  11:20 p.m. CST, November 7, 2011

The Marlins will meet with White Sox free agent pitcher Mark Buehrle on Tuesday in South Florida, according to FoxSports' Ken Rosenthal.

The pairing would reunite the 32-year-old pitcher with new Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen. Marlins scout Matt Kinzer watched the Sox and Buehrle several times in late June and much of July.

Buehrle has 161 victories, 10 consecutive seasons of at least 200 innings, 30 starts and 10 victories, 80 pickoffs since 2001 and three AL Gold Glove awards during his 12 seasons with the White Sox.

Assuming JJ-Buerhle-Nolasco-Sanchez-#5(Hand, Volstad, Zambrano) that's a pretty solid NL rotation.

Was MK7 the NO CHANCE guy or was he just playing along?

Let me just say this...as a long time Marlins fan, this is making me extremely happy. I feel like a giddy little school girl.

My only concern is that there isn't a ton of strikeout potential there, unless Z is the #5, but the way our ballpark figures to play, that's probably OK.
