We would get a great return for Hanley.

A bunch of prospects that won't help for a while

Would we? Him being ass over the last 9 months + demanding a trade doesn't help his value much.

I mean, you could probably get some legit major league ready stuff for Hanley if you made it clear you aren't interested in prospects.

But it would be hard to get a package that improves the team right away. And winning right away is all that matters.

You clearly don't understand the pride players have in their positions (even if they aren't great at them). Also, we're 4 months from Opening Day, he's more than welcome to be upset here in December.

                      Exhibit A: Derek Jeter

If we trade Hanley (and no Pujols), we're back to square one because our lineup wouldn't be all that.

It would mean that we basically just added Reyes and traded Hanley. In other words, probably got worse.

If we don't get Pujols I'm sure Loria and company will force Hanley to play third.

They're not going to have to force him to do anything.

Baseball players are not robots. Of course he's upset about it now. I would be too.

"Hey guy, we really like you, but we want you to switch to this other job so we can replace you with this other guy." "FUCK YOU"

/how pretty much anyone would feel at first

Guy, you're not supposed to talk about when the Yankees traded for the superior defensive SS and then moved him to 3B because the "ultimate team player" refused to move to 3B.

                            That didn't happen. Shhhhhhhh

Chris Singleton on ESPN says he's spoken to several people n the Marlins organization and they notified Hanley near the end of the year that moving to 3rd base was the plan with them going after Reyes. Says Hanley has been updated throughout the process of what the teams plans are and that he was fine with it.

So basically Chris Singleton got all his info from Eduardo Perez, just my guess.

Chris Singleton is fucking up the narrative!

Someone dispatch a Marlins beat writer to counter it with a made up story.
