      • It's certainly possible that Reyes' deal is front loaded. Crawford's was $5 million less in yr/1 than the rest of the deal.

Maybe they are going to deal Nolasco to stay under $100M?

              (I don't see us staying under $100M.)

Absolutely, just round balling it. But even if it's front/back, they are blowing well past that $80-85 estimate from earlier in the offseason. We all know Buerhle/CJ is pushing this over $100 if they pull that off.

If the Marlins went in with club controlled options to fill out the rest, they would be 12th in baseball in payroll for 2011.

Adding $20 million more for two more SP and to fill out the bench, would push them into top 10 payroll territory.

That's really good to know. I have not had a chance to read it yet.

I second this. Remember they've been trying to get rid of Nolasco since (last) off-season.. They also are not happy with what he did last season.

Problem I see with this is, they need two starting pitchers right now. Signing someone and ditching Nolasco accomplishes what?

@SI_JonHeyman: with bell and reyes in fold, no 1 should doubt marlins r players for wilson or buehrle. if get either, nolasco could go
