Sign Cespedes move LoMo to 1B and use Gaby in a trade for Garza

Chicago likes Yelich,Gaby,Dominguez however they want a young ML Ready SP in a deal for Garza

If we're willing to trade Yelich, I'd rather see how Nolasco/Volstad do in Astrodome 2.0 and use Yelich at the deadline to add whatever that final piece may be (Greinke?).

Yelich looks like he has the potential to be damn good in just a few short years. I dont know if Garza warrants a prospect of that magnitude.

Matt Dominguez had a comparable year in Greensboro at a younger age. Let's not go crazy, you guys. He's a nice prospect, and he's our top one, but he shouldn't be anything close to untouchable. Especially if he's relegated to a corner outfield spot, which does look like his destiny.

I mean he's pretty close to untouchable this early in his career. If he has another really solid season, then see where his value is at. Right now I don't think Yelich's value in the trade market is high enough to warrant letting him go.

That's why his line was oh so cool.

He struck out a lot, he really didn't walk much, and his power was mundane (PARK FACTORS).

He's average at best in those 3 categories. He needs to constantly put up a huge BABIP to be awesome, and it's very rare for a hitter to do that. I'm willing to bet on him not being one based off how few are like that.

He could also improve in the other 3 categories, but until he has he hasn't. Right now I think he becomes a very average player - and that's an awesome thing to have in your system. But you don't hold onto that when you can get a pretty big lift now. When his power or plate discipline start improving, then we can start holding him in the higher light. And yes he's young enough and has the potential to do that. But you don't hold him because OF his potential. You hold him in "he is what he is, AND this is his potential".

I think he's rather overrated right now, especially by our fan base.

Yep. He's our top prospect kind of by default. He's probably in the ~50 range among all prospects. He's cool. He's not elite or anything close.

I guess dont see Garza as a "very big lift" as its not out of the realm of possibility that Ricky Nolasco could put up a comparable line(more or less)
