MIAMI (AP) -- A glare that's bothered drivers on Interstate 95 and State Road 836 in Miami will be dimmed soon.
Some drivers have complained of the strong glare since spring, when the retractable roof was first closed on the Florida Marlins new stadium, now under construction near downtown Miami.
Claude Delorme, the Marlins executive vice president of ball park development, says relief is near.
The Miami Herald reports installation began last week on a white rubber membrane that will cover the metal, reflecting the sun and reducing the heat inside when the roof is closed.
Delrome says a 547-foot span has been installed and, so far, he sees no glare.
The stadium is expected to open next spring. The Marlins play their final games in Sun Life stadium next week.
