        • I like John Buck. He sucks in an old school way .227, 16, 57; a new school way (.227/.316/.367) and makes anywhere from 8-10% of our projected 2012 payroll. Cornerstone.

no.. too much money for a player who is one step from being on crutches

you said Abreu & Matsui are old and have knee problems and play the field. They don't play the field they DH and thats where Beltran belongs.

He isn't playing CF no matter how much you think he might be able to. That isn't happening.

John Lackey was one of the worst pitchers in baseball this year.

Your solution for the rotation is getting rid of Nolasco and adding A.J. Burnett and John Lackey.

You really can't see why this sucks?

And John Lackey had a 6.41 ERA this year.

                    That's some great value there.

if were talking about phyical so whats the point in siging ramirez or reyes. we need to take some risk in order to get rewards. this teams had always played it safe with free agent signings. its time things changed. heck maybe even stanton can play CF

                      • It involves shedding close to $20 million in bad contracts. Unless you think Buck and Nolasco are good contracts.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to add two guys who "had" something, are going to play in a cavernous ballpark and are, worst case, DFA risks and the organization is fine.

Aramis & Reyes are younger and are also not falling apart at the seams.
