Would love adding 2 vets like Buehrle and Zambrano to the rotation. If we could convince Vasquez to come back we could have a 1-5 of:
Johnson
Buehrle
Sanchez
Vasquez
Zambrano
(now if it was 2005 that would be very sick but still pretty nice now)
Volstad to the pen as long relief?
So many rumors right now and still a month till the off season, it is nice to be talked about as a possible destination instead of a feeder team for the rest of the mlb

Pudge wants to come back
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Catcher Ivan Rodriguez might have waved goodbye Wednesday to Sun Life Stadium. But he'd sure like to say hello next April to the Marlins' new ballpark.
Rodriguez, the likely Hall of Famer who went 1 of 3 for Washington in its 3-1 win over the Marlins, turns 40 in November and is bound for free agency. But Rodriguez insisted after the game he's not ready to retire, and said he would love to sign with the Marlins for their inaugural season at the retractable-roof stadium in Miami.
"Hopefully," Rodriguez, who won a World Series with the Marlins in his only South Florida season of 2003, said in an interview with FOX Sports Florida about possibly rejoining with the team. "Let's see. It would be great. It would be a great organization. There are good memories, but I don't have any control over (whether the Marlins might want him)."
It might be a long shot. But count Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez as one who would love to see Rodriguez, who has a home in Miami, have a second go-around with the Marlins.
"That would be good," Ramirez said. "He could handle young pitchers. He could be behind home plate. He's been around. He pretty much knows everybody. He knows every team in the league. Yeah, why not?"
One thing is for sure. The man they call "Pudge" has no plans to leave the game even though he hit just .218 for the Nationals this season while playing in just 44 games.
"Absolutely, I'm not retiring," Rodriguez said. "I'm not going to retire. I've still got some goals to accomplish. I want to win another World Series and get 3,000 hits… I still have a lot of baseball in me. I love what I do and have the passion to play. I want to play a few more years. The way I take care of myself, the way I work out, the way I prepare myself in the offseason, I can still play this game for a little while."
Rodriguez collected his 2,844th career hit Wednesday. He's the all-time leader among catchers, and would love to be the first at his position to reach 3,000.
It might not be easy. Rodriguez got just 27 hits this season. He did get 106 in 2010, making reaching 3,000 possible in two seasons if he got with the right team.
"Who knows? Maybe one," the confident Rodriguez said about how many seasons he might need for the milestone.
One thing is for sure. Rodriguez, a 21-year veteran and 14-time All-Star, will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer five years after he retires.
Rodriguez's one season in Florida was good enough for him to be named to the Marlins' all-time team. He hit .297 that season.
When Rodriguez stepped to the plate in the second inning Wednesday, Marlins fans gave him a nice round of applause. He tipped his batting helmet to them.
"Absolutely, to be honest with you, I got goosebumps," Rodriguez told reporters about the cheer. "I felt very happy to be with that team that year and contribute the way I did. It was a great year overall."
Rodriguez wouldn't mind having one more stint with the Marlins.
