West hasn't, but unless we trade him then we are stuck with him at the big league level. Personally, I really like Sanabia, who has played decently in the Majors, and think he would be great in a Longman/Badenhop role.

Ceda has been named closer of the future since he was brought to the organization. Wouldn't surprise me in the bit to see him in that role next year.

Ceda actually performed in the minors this year. His control improved this year. And he has been good since being recalled.
There aren't just two options with players who are out of options. You can always release them because they don't deserve a spot on a big league club.

Ceda hasn't been bad, but I do believe he still needs some work before becoming a full-blown, 45-50 save opportunities closer. We can't keep running out guys that blow 10 saves a year like Kevin Gregg and JC Oviedo and have no control like Matt Lindstrom.Miami Marlins. Channeling our inner 90s Devil Rays.

The point is being concerned with who is closing games at the start of next season is pointless. The 5 guys making up the rotation have a lot more importance and this team does not have the resources in house to throw together a rotation. They do have the resources in house to compile a bullpen.

Isn't it possible to sign Aramis, the lefty starter, and a legit closer this offseason?
Why can't every single one of those things be done if payroll is projected to be 100 million?
A bullpen arm definitely isn't a priority; however, if everything else on the team looks good, why not sign one? We could clearly use an upgrade there.
We don't have as many holes as some are saying. Why do we need to sign an extra 1500 PA's or whatever the # was that was put in this thread? The team's offense is set for the most part.

This is a completely different situation now.
And Joe Borowski was a mediocre reliever. So it's basically just Todd Jones who had a career year once upon a time.
Why would the team rely on luck with a 100 million dollar payroll?
