White Sox announce that they assigned the contract of right-hander Ricardo Andres to the Marlins to complete the Ozzie Guillen deal.

Ozzie is paying off already,he already has convinced Loria to take on players instead of cash.

Andres isn't anything but he is 6'4 205lbs and 20 yrs old from Venezuela. Terrible command tho

      • Ozzie speaks the truth. I laugh at all the exiles here who support the 1940 Cuban constitution. It set the stage for Castro.

        • "Let me ask you a question," he said. "Would you rather have a championship ring or $10 million?"

The TV guy looked like a kid lost in the store.

          "Tell the truth,'' Guillen said.

          "The $10 million,'' he said.

"There you go,'' Guillen said. "I want the money, too. Everyone wants the money. What's the big deal? But people don't have the guts to say it. A championship ring is what you work for. You want it. But I'd rather have the money. What's so surprising about that?"

He looked around him. "Would anyone want a championship ring instead of $10 million? Huh? Anyone?"
          This is so awesome.

                • Not down here. The Marlins might get fined for not interviewing a white guy.

                      • Hypothetical, if OZ trashes your season so he could be fired to accept a better paying position elsewhere, because hey, who wouldn't rather have more money than a championship, will you still be loving Oz?

Dunn, in the midst of the worst season in MLB history plays in 122 games, racks up (or I should say wrecks up) 415 ABs while hitting a lofty .159 in the middle of the order!? Meanwhile the GM brings up options from AAA who sparkle in a few ABs, then are left on the bench so Dunn can stack up 177 Ks.

We're wondering why Oz didn't either keep Dunn on the bench or maybe moved him down to 8th in the order. Perhaps wanting the Florida money instead of a championship explains a lot.

I love Oz, and wish him, and y'all, a long successful run. He's honest, genuine, and caring. But some of the decisions he makes will leave you bewildered. And in typical Oz fashion, his switch is one of the rarest in baseball, a managerial trade, and has made two franchises very happy.

I find fancy vocab words to be rather vexatious.

                            Agreed.

Also, I would stop just defaulting to the belief that he purposely made the White Sox suck this year. The White Sox sucked and shitty players played for the White Sox, but I wouldn't just assume that both of those were by way of Ozzie Guillen sabotage.

                            • Maybe Kenny Williams shouldn't have given Adam Dunn the contract he gave him.

Any organization that says they're not trying to make their investment work is just bullshiting. Ozzie was probably forced to play Dunn a lot more than you think.

It's not like the Sox were going to win a championship with Dunn batting 8th or out of the lineup.
