And he wonders why everyone assumed the original quotes were totally accurate
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

Yeah what LoMo said was definitely stupid, regardless of whether or not he clarified his statement, but I find it to be equally silly that some of you want him dealt. The kid is having a rough couple of months at the plate in his SECOND season. Knee-jerk much?

Personality may have something to do with it.

Unless his name is Carlos Zambrano.

The Cubs don't want to trade Zambrano because of his personality issues.

They want to trade him because he has an attrocious contract, and he's having a horrible year.

                It's not quite that bad.

Marlins are 51-41 when Hanley plays, 5-21 when he doesn't.

50-39 when he starts, 6-23 when he doesn't.

He's so gonna win NY Times MVP.

90 win team when Hanley plays at a shitty level. Fun.

Should trade him so he can take his "bad work ethic" and "poor leadership" out of the clubhouse.

Then they can be the worst team in baseball.

But they'll show up on time for the losing.

Uhh, yeah...I think they want to deal his personality issues away. I don't know about you but guys who randomly retire after bad starts aren't who I want on my team.

He's had those issues his whole career. They never seemed to mind them when he was putting up consistent 3 eras.

Hell I still remember the discussion on the old board during the 2003 NLCS about how if we could frustrate him he'd melt down.

They've been wanting to trade him before that ever happened.

I don't think it's coincidence that the trade rumors went away some with him after he started pitching well again in the 2nd half last year.

                            It's all about performance. Production>>>>>>>>>>Personality.

As long as Hanley's one of the best SS's in the game and Lomo's a young, cost effective hitter, they both stay.

This is stupid, anyway. Logan Morrison doesn't have personality issues, aside from certain irrelevant fans who might dislike his personality. He seems to get along with the majority of his teammates and is rather popular on Twitter with fans.

Hanley's presence in the lineup is extremely valuable even if he isnt hitting .342. The record shows how the team has done with him in the lineup and not in the lineup and the record speaks for itself.

I think a better indicator of Hanley's value would be runs scored per game when he's in the lineup, as opposed to when he's not in the lineup.

Either way, he's valuable because he's one of the best shortstops in the game. Like if we were 39-50 with him/21-6 without him, I'd still want him back next year.
