If he stays healthy and plays long enough, his stats will obv be good enough to get in, I just don't see him playing here long enough. It's highly debateable that he even finishes his contract here.

You're missing exactly what it is that I'm remembering. I don't remember the game. Nothing particularly noteworthy happened, so I don't remember anything about it. I even got the team we were playing wrong [hat tip to Swift]. I do, however, know for a fact that I watched this game.
Which is part of my point. Beckett's first game, by your definition, would be something pretty worth noting. He was a huge prospect and his debut was a major moment for that era of the Marlins. But nothing really happened during the game that's worthy of nostalgia, so no one feels the game is memorable.
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.
