The Mets Lost. The Marlins Did Not. Chewie Made a Post Game Thread.
Regardless of past performance, 1-15 in one run games is insanely unlucky.
Going 16-5 in the others is lucky then.

Leo's got 27 saves now. I would imagine we can get something nice if the Marlins want to trade him. It would be cool if guys like Bell are traded before the 31st.

One has nothing to do with the other though. If I flip a coin and it lands heads 5 times in a row, do you think the chance of it being tails on the next flip is better than 50/50? Do you think the roulette wheel is more likely to land on red just because the past 7 spins have all been black? The answer to both is no. It's basic probability.
If I happen to win the lottery, and then, immediately afterward, get struck by lightning, would you say, "Well dude, you had to kind of expect this, you just finished being really lucky"?
Even if the Marlins went 20-1 before their slump, it still wouldn't make the 1-15 streak any less unlucky.

I know.
I'm just saying I don't see the point in bringing it up when the bottom line is that it's just basically even'd out for this team.
They've had stretches of bad luck, and stretches of good luck.
Looking at the whole picture, you could make a better case that the team has been lucky considering they're only 2 games under .500, despite a run differential of -27.
When we don't make the playoffs this year, I'm not going to look back at the season and say "man we were really unlucky in June" because I could just as easily say "phew, we were pretty lucky in April" or "our schedule was full of garbage teams when we got hot in July."
