With all of this talk about not doing anything major this year, I presume he's kidding. Posted it just in case.

Marlins getting a ton of hits on Nunez, Infante, Nolasco, Choate, but given weakness of offers, they intend to keep players for 2012. #trades

              • Salary doesn't need to go down. If you don't get the right offer, don't make the move.

                • I'd love to see what a weak offer for Infante is. What, exactly, are they expecting in return?

I can understand not moving the others if the return isn't right, but who cares about moving Infante?

I'd trade Infante for a raw reliever with upside if that just so happened to be the return.

                  • Does anyone know if Infante sneaks into a type b?

I was going to ask the same thing.

I guess he would, if they're seeking better value for him.

                      • Actually, he does project to be a Type B.

I also cannot believe MLBTR seems kind of reliable here as well - http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/elias-rankings/

                        • Makes sense to keep him then.

Lots of teams have hit the Marlins on Infante;right now, ATL/Infante deal not close at all, according to a source. FLA leans toward keeping

                            • I like that we are keeping. This is a good team with a piece or two added in the offseason.

Edward Mujica and Leo Nunez "goodbye" hugging Omar Infante inside #Marlins clubhouse. Trade? No. Just joking with him. 7/31/11 12:17 PM
