He threw 209 innings in '09. I consider that a full season.

So let me get this straight; if someone comes and offers us something for Johnson at this point, you guys seriously consider doing it?

        No they weren't.

And Josh Johnson not having any structural damage doesn't take away from the fact that he's basically missed the entire year this year.

Point is, the Marlins haven't had all three stay healthy in the same year for a full year yet.

        There's always been a problem.

Depending on the return, sure why not?

        • I think his wording was poor. Instead of, "they can't help," it should probably have been "Can't be counted on."

And no, they're never all clicking simultaneously. Either JJ is hurt, or Ricky is getting shelled, or Anibal is dinged (though not lately.)

Individually, they're great. Collectively, they're volatile.

You're being nitpicky. Johnson was shut down in mid-to-late September last year.

And I'm sorry, but I think it's pretty ridiculous to even consider dealing Johnson unless someone like Cabrera is involved. And even then I would still be hesitant.

            I'm fine with that.

            • I never gave the suggestion of dealing JJ, although his value is taking huge hits with his injuries piling up. My point came from seeing a guy like Rasmus who fills a huge need for this team and is an everyday player go for what he went for when you have assets that could be used to obtain him but don't. I'm working blind here though, for all I know they may have inquired or tried to make a deal but all I see is then telling guys no go on both Anibal and Ricky when I think it isn't such a bad idea to move them if the price is right.

              • Gotta think St Louis would have jumped all over a Nolasco for Rasmus type deal. This deal takes them out of the Leo Nunez trade talks as well

                • I mean St.Louis basically dealt him for pieces identical(better) to what the Marlins could give them. A lefty specialist, BP arm and a SP.

                  • I think Jackson > Nolasco, but I think we could have given the pieces to get Jackson and replicate what the Blue Jays gave up

Pretty much Choate,Nunez, and Nolasco with Nunez younger than Dotel

                      • I would not have given up Nolasco for Rasmus

as I still don't see who is taking Nolasco's place in the rotation next year

I realize Wilson and others are out there, I just don't see us signing them
