Ubaldo's got a career 131 ERA+, while Nolasco's is at 98.
Nolasco has career peripherals that say his career ERA probably shouldn't be 4.3, but there's a reason why he's historically had high ERA's.
Nolasco gives up a shitload of HR's (1.14 HR/9). Considering the team, you could make a case that pitching in the AL East/half his games in Yankee Stadium, Nolasco is probably an inconsistent, high 4ish ERA guy.
The Yankees aren't going to give up Montero+ for that.
Ubaldo, on the other hand, is on a great contract and had a dominant year just last year.
He's a power arm with a strong K rate and a career 0.57 HR/9/50.5 GB rate making him a much better pitcher, especially considering the team (Yankees/Yankee Stadium).
And Ubaldo's actually the guy who pitches in Coors Field with those numbers. (the best hitters' park in baseball)
There's really not much of a comparison here.

By the way, even though the results have been there lately, Nolasco's yearly K/9 #'s have gone from 9.49 to 8.39 to 6.68 this year. That's not really going to boost his trade value, by any means.

And yeah; I definitely don't see the Yankees including Montero in a deal for Nolasco.

Brandon Guzio did almost an entire hour of talk on Sunday saying they Marlins need to get rid of Hanley because he is tired of his lazy/no work ethic attitude and that the Marlins really need to stalk pile the minor league system with 4-5 guys because it is barren.
I texted in and actually got a response. I asked him what prospects would he like, because they pretty much have a prospect at every position. He said Matt Dominguez shouldn't be considered a prospect and he doesn't want to hear about him anymore, and they need young arms in the minors because they have no one for the rotation. He said he is sick of guys like Volstad and Brad Hand who shouldn't be in the majors.
Apparently he thinks there should be an Ace in every spot of the rotation. He even went as far to say that the contract Hanley is signed to will hinder the team and that they should dump him to clear money for guys who deserve it like LoMo and Coghlan because they show leadership... lol
I don't understand how these guys get on the air when they seem to know so little about things. I'm sure if the team did trade Hanley he would be one of the first people to say this is why no one likes the Marlins they always trade away their star players.

When I was listening he didn't really give an explanation he just said he is tired of hearing about him. I can only imagine it would be because he failed to make the team out of spring training and he isn't really tearing up the minors now. From the sound of things he believes every rookie should come up and instantly be amazing... but he also admits his team is the Yankees and only watches the Marlins occasionally. I don't take what he says too seriously, it just makes me upset that there are turds on the radio who bash the team and really don't know anything about them.
