    ok

We'll go with Aaron Thompson, Ryan Tucker, Sean West, Hector Correa and every HS pitcher picked below the 6th round since 2002

And we'll give you Josh Johnson, Scott Olsen, and even Chris Volstad as a success with the jury still out on Hand, James and Olmos

Doesn't seem to warrant saying it's a "good eye for the most part."

It's not scouting in my opinion, it's the fact are team is cheap and doesn't want to spend on the big name prospects.

I concur. Out of the 5 first rounders in 2005, I am pretty sure Volstad is the only one who was projected to go there, for example.

We are going to draft a toolsy HSer soon and a couple college arms that are easy signs.

                  Back to the pick...

I like it, wish we went with Gray, Meyer, Mahtook. However, this kid is big, throws hard and looks to be a hard worker through his interesting life story. We will see how it goes.

This is all stupid. There's good examples and bad in every type of pick at every round.

I should have quoted Dropkick Alex, I was referring to the toolsy outfielders he mentioned.

Not really a good retort, as both Toles and Cooper were taken about 10 rounds, at least, ahead of where people thought they would go.

The only toolsy guy I really liked us drafting was Ike Galloway and that hasn't worked out so well.

Stanton was toolsy yes, but IMHO it's a little different because a 6'5'' dude is a little more interesting than a 5'8'' toolsy player.

Regardless of the fact that you consistently make draft projections up and never post ANY evidence of what you say, you nor dropkick said anything about toolsy HS outfielders who were drafted higher than expected, you said toolsy HS outfielders, so yes, Mike Stanton is a perfect retort. Stop nitpicking.

Also the massive difference between a guy like Stanton and Cooper just goes to show how stupid and useless a description like "toolsy high school OFer" is.
