Josh Johnson was put on the 15-day disabled list today with right shoulder inflammation.

RHP Jay Buente was called up from New Orleans and will make JJ’s start Sunday against the Rays.

Johnson, who was put on the disabled list retroactive to May 17, pitched five innings Monday in his last start, allowing one run. He left the game after the fifth inning because of a right forearm bruise from getting hit by a Carlos Beltran grounder.

His velocity was down, which he attributed at the time to not getting into his normal pre-game routine because of an 80-minute rain delay.

JJ missed the final three weeks of the 2010 season with back and shoulder issues, but he did not see time on the disabled list.

Johnson is tied for the NL lead in ERA at 1.64. He’s 3-1 but hasn’t won since April 19.

#Marlins do not consider J. Johnson's shoulder issue to be serious. He has been thoroughly checked out. Team just taking no chances. #MLB
