  • Postgame: Marlins Hold On To Win Opener In Cinny 7-6

Little too dramatic at the end there for my liking but good start to win on a night with Vazquez on the mound.

      3 Ks, 3 BBs, 3 GBs, 8 FBs, 2 HRs.

      Nothing encouraging about that start.

He really didn't do anything well there. If that was Volstad we'd kill him.

It was really nice of that Wood guy to give us all those runs.

Hanley looks good except that he tried to steal.

It's hard to argue with a two hit day, but could he hit the fucking ball in the air?

He really looks like he is trying to hit one out every AB.

I honestly cannot remember the last time he hit a ball well in the air.

One home run was a BS chip shot over the LL fence.

If Javy finds a way to give us 6 innings on three runs on a more consistent basis I'll be happy. At the end of the season, we can pretend we never dated him.

I still think Hanley looks like shit. His second hit was actually a bad bounce, if anything. Once again, on the ground.

Leo probably looked the worst he looked all year; he was throwing in the lower 90's. Still, Bonifacio misplayed that ball in LF, and it kinda over-complicated things in the 9th.

A win is a win, especially in a tough environment on the road. So I'll take it.

And Mike Dunn blew a strike 3 fastball past Joey Votto; that was impressive.

When you give up 10 flyballs in 6 innings, a few cheapies will sneak out. They still count.

Striking out a batter every other inning, walking as many as you strike out, and allowing a shitload of flyballs will make going 6 innings with 3-4 runs almost impossible.

Can't just play the result on that and think it says anything positive moving forward.

He's trying to lift everything and then he gets on top of the ball and he pounds it toward the ground, his oppo field double was about the only good swing he had today.

Yeah, especially since our outfield defense kinda sucks.

His fastball averaged 93.9 for the outing. His season average for fastballs? Yup, 93.9.

Coming into the night, Hanley had a 60.4 GB%/10.4 LD % against right-handed pitching on the year.
