I don't know if that stadium is strong enough to hold a Mike Stanton shot.

I would like to see how they set this up.

Why let them hit in an unfinished product? Takes away from the real thing for me.

I dunno, I just wouldn't want to see an unfinished product and hitting BP in a half-done stadium. That's just me. Like for instance, I am not a fan of exhibition games, to me it takes away from opening day. (even though I've been to exhibitions, Yankees at Marlins in 08)

I'm confused why ST would take away from Opening Day

Not ST, but an exhibition in their home stadium (Sun Life or whatever)

I think it's kind of silly to have them hit in an unfinished product because I'd be concerned something (no matter how remote) could go wrong.

I do understand that they're doing it to try to build anticipation and excitement for the stadium though, so that's fine.

At least it's not like the Giants having a private batting practice with Barry Bonds before opening Pac-Bell so he could be the first person to hit a ball into McCovey Cove (which they did), it's just trying to build the brand through awareness.

the only bad that could happen to the stadium is mike stanton could hit a ball that breaks the structure.

                        giants thing is dumb though

I think this is pretty cool. They are probably going to stage the seat installation on the same day. Instead of a 15 second clip during the sports segment, it will be a full length feature on the news. Good public awareness builder in terms of construction progress and pitchers and catchers reporting.

Forgive me if this seems like a stupid question, but they're gonna take BP on a pile of dirt?
