      This.

I've decided to love him solely because he is not Dan Uggla.

I don't even care how he does. He is not Dan Uggla, therefore he is almost best.

      • Were others aware of this Uggla attitude beforehand?

          • OMGInfante cares not of former 2B. He lives by two simple rules.

            1. Show Up.
            2. See What Happens.

                • I wonder how many starts Brooks Conrad will get now...

Maybe he'll just come in as a defensive sub late in games after Uggs has made 3 errors, so Brooks can make 3 errors of his own

                      Here's part of that 7-8 million (the difference between Uggla's projected $10 and the $2.5 million Infante will make);

A source said the Marlins could not have landed Buck, an All-Star with the Blue Jays in 2010, had Uggla agreed to the extension.

                      • Payroll may be higher than the $50 mil thought. Cheap assholes.

With Uggla's money now free to spend in other areas, the Marlins are expected to make more moves this winter. The team is projected to have a payroll of about $53 million to $55 million, up from last year's figure of about $48 million.

                            • De La Rosa has a lot of upside potential, but he seems very inconsistent, he reminds me of Nolasco from the left side.

De La Rosa is commanding 11 million a year, which is completely absurd.

Pavano will probably be asking for 8-10 a year.

Maybe our best choice is to go after Garza or Shields? We can offer Leo and a prospect(s).

                              • Lefty guys. No Pavano, no Rays people (and they need a slugging corner player, which we don't have).

                                Lefty Lefty.

if we have have $53, we have $6-7 million to spend plus trading Leo/Paulino/Hop/Veras. That's where we rough stand. Maybe $8 if they completely obliterate Hensley, Mujica, and Anibal in arbitration, and get Nolasco on a 3 year deal with a low year 1.

Jorge DLC would be awesome. I don't care what he's making if it's a 2 year deal.

There is also Jeff Francis and Erik Bedard on free agency.... yea I know, but just throwing out names. It would be high risk, but interesting.
