Miller is set to make 2 million in arbitration, I believe, which would be a lot for a player that might spend the whole year in Triple A trying to throw strikes. The Marlins probably figured he was never going to pan out in Florida so instead of non tendering him or releasing him why not get a warm body back.

It's funny though if I were to tell you back in 2006/2007 that the Marlins would end up trading Hermida and Miller to Boston for Hunter Jones and Dustin Richardson I'd be laughed off the site. Baseball is strange at times huh? Especially since both Hermida and Miller were can't miss.
