Consider the source. No way this happened. I have my problems with the way the Front Office handles things, but there is no way this occurred. Everyone in the organization has said nothing but glowing things about Mike Stanton. He has all the intangibles the FO looks for and overpays for.

Guillen is a blowhard who probably would not last more than a couple seasons down here. The over/under on his first complaint to the media about being handed a bargain basement roster is 3 weeks and I'm still taking the under. He'd be great entertainment for us fans but a complete disaster for ownership and the FO.

Also, but for all the crap Swift gets, he has been ahead of the curve on a lot of things in the 5+ years he's been posting. The Cabrera trade, Hermida and Mike Lowell all come to mind.
