Cody Ross Recruiting Uggla?

San Francisco Giants OF Cody Ross is recruiting his best friend, Florida Marlins 2B Dan Uggla, the San Francisco Chronicle's John Shea reports. Ross has tried to persuade Uggla not to sign a long-term deal with the Marlins and sign with the Giants when he's a free agent after next season.

I've read a few reports that he is expected to be tendered a contract by the Giants. His play in the postseason thus far is certainly helping his case.

And apparently the Marlins would've kept Cody had the team not fallen out of contention, and with the club falling out of contention coupled with them wanting to give Maybin playing time, Cody was let go.

I think it's kind of ironic that we could see two teams with former Marlins from this year face off in the World Series (Texas/Cantu and San Fransisco/Ross).

All that said, I don't like the fact that he's telling Uggla to go out there - funny also because San Fran was a rumored trading spot for Uggla last season, involving Jonathan Sanchez or something, IIRC, no?
