It's time to shut JJ down for the season.

Unless something medical is bothering him that we as fans aren't told about, I don't see a reason to at this point. I'd like to see him get 2-3 more starts so he could possibly get over 190 innings for the season, then go ahead and shut him down. We have to build up that arm strength, the second half is clearly an issue for him.

I'm not sure I like him pitching for the sake of getting his innings up. Maybe JJ is a premium pitcher who will never be a high innings guy. Just my own speculation. Just hate to see him go out there and get in the groove of having sub par outings.

I'm all for babying a pitcher if their medical needs dictate it. If it's to protect him from bad outings, then fuck him, pitch better.
