Tomorrow will probably be rained out with the tropical storm headed our way, so maybe Sanabia will be pushed back to Saturday, pushing back the rest of the rotation as well.

Even if tomorrow's game is rained out, this is game 1 of a 3 game series and the storm is supposed to be out of the area on Saturday. We would just play a doubleheader on Saturday (or possibly Sunday). We would still need another starter to pitch on Sunday.

Marlins: As expected, Chris Volstad will make his first start for the Marlins Sunday since being sent down on July 6

ugh. Im not bashing Volstad or mba, i actually like volstad, but Im not a fan of this. This should be a clear reason why he was send down, whether it is to work on something or boost his confidence. And i didnt think he accomplished much to merit another call up. Whatever hurting him before, probably will not be fixed now, so basically he'll be the same pitcher pre-demotion, and that barely serviceable. Why play with his confidence, by saying "hey you suck too much to be in major, go to NO and drink" then saying a couple of weeks later "hey, you havent accomplished anything special in NO, but now you are good enough to pitch in the ML rotation"?

yeah, we have limited options, but i still believe Volstad has potential to be a good #2#3, and we are fucking with it by messing up with his psyche and putting him in position to fail. Let him work out shit completely in New Orleans, then call him up when he performing at a level that force the FO hand, to make room for him in the rotation.

Once again, not bashing volstad, it just my honest opinion of what we should do, to put volstad in the best position for his career.

The fact is that volstad is not pitching up to his potential, he is pitching like a crappy #4/#5 ala NateRob, and something is causing that or something needs to be added or changed to help him reach that level and that should be done in the minors.
