Tom Mastny allowed 3 runs over 6 innings in his last start. And 1 run over 7 the start before that. And 5 shutout the start before that. But nobody talks about that.

Did Frisaro just call Volstad a future closer on twitter?

Kingzfan tweet:

Just a quick note, the press pass for tonight's Zephyrs game is up and West is listed as the starter. If he does indeed pitch tonight, he wouldn't be able to pitch Sunday.
Another quick note I saw in the press pass for those 11 of you that want him to start Sunday.
West continues to baffle left-handed hitting while struggling against righties. Lefties are 6x61 (.098) with three of the six hits going for extra bases while right-handed hitters are 41x108 (.380) against the Z's southpaw.

And, no, I'm not bashing him. Just sharing info I didn't know, either.

Nothing earth shattering but JCR has the same belief that I do.
Volstad on tap?
Manager Edwin Rodriguez wasn't prepared to name Chris Volstad the starter for Sunday's series finale against the Braves, but it appears the Marlins will go that route.
Wednesday, Volstad totaled 70 pitches over a four-inning start for Triple-A New Orleans at Round Rock (Tex.). He gave up four runs on five hits (one homer) with three walks and three strikeouts in his third outing since his demotion. Rodriguez said that Volstad's pitch count would not preclude him from coming back Sunday on short rest.
Sean West was another candidate to take Nate Robertson's rotation spot, but West started Thursday for the Zephyrs, all but ruling him out of a Sunday outing in the majors.
