Even though mibby made me privately campaign for his demise, I think Volstad would perform better than anyone else on this list. West or RVH are the other obvious choices, but I'd also be really interested in what Koehler could do.Christian Yelich

As far as who will take Robertson’s rotation spot, the Marlins could give Sean West another look. He is 3-3 with a 3.50 ERA in nine starts for the Zephyrs since coming off the disabled list. More importantly, he appears to have corrected the command issues that hampered him in spring training. Wednesday, right-hander Chris Volstad is scheduled to make his third start since his demotion to New Orleans. The Marlins could give him an abbreviated outing tonight and bring him back on short rest Sunday. West’ was originally slated to start Thursday for the Zephyrs.

The Marlins are calling up reliever Jorge Sosa for now but will have to find a starter to replace Robertson in the rotation -- most likely Chris Volstad -- for Sunday's game against the Braves.Last edited by THE_REAL_MIBS; 07-21-2010, 01:49 PM.

Like I said yesterday, Volstad makes the most sense. Even JCR said in his post above the same thing I said; they can limit Volstad's pitches tonight and start him in Sunday on short rest. If they would go with West, he would have to skip his start in AAA and get called up having last thrown a full 8 days before that Sunday start and having only thrown 3.2 innings since July 7th. That's not really what you'd want.
