Tommy Hutton Absent Again As the Marlins Win 2nd Straight
His stance is very centered and as he loads, his weight is transferred back and then forward through his swing; all in one motion. I actually discourage my kids from doing that because it can lead to timing issues on change ups and breaking balls and you see a lot of lunging at soft stuff outside.
This was mine from around ST. To expand on this, he starts balanced and centered, and not enough weight comes back during the load and too much comes forward during the swing. He doesn't stay back enough a. However, being as strong as he is has helped 'mask' the problem. If he's fooled and his weight shifts through too early, he's able too hit it fairly hard.
What you hope to happen if he can't stay back, is his discipline to improve to the point where he just lays off soft stuff despite being out in front.
