actually not - decades start with the "one" year and end with the "zero" year. That's why all that millenium crap, was just that, CRAP, as the new millenium really didn't start until Jan 1st, 2001.

Though I'm not in a hurry to bog this thread down with other information, this is incorrect. The decade ended when the clock turned to 2010, because it noted that we have completed 2010 years since Jesus' birth on the calendar. Since the year was completed, we are now working on the 2011th year since said birth.....hence, the new decade.

Think of it this way.....on your birthday, you celebrate the completion of your previous year of life. You didn't turn 1 on the day you were born - you turned one on your first birthday, which was the first anniversary of your birth.
