Good... now that he's gone maybe all the idiots who sit in the bullpen section will stop hanging around the front railing asking Pinto non-stop for balls and gum and all the other dumb things he would throw into the crowd.
for one, he sucks. He has a career FIP of 4.76, xFIP of 4.86, and his xFIP the past two years is over 5.
An average reliever sits in the 4-4.10 range.
His career line against is .225/.351/.354/.704, for a .322 wOBA. The average wOBA is .326 this season, putting him just around average for a pitcher period. Not for a relief pitcher. Average pitcher is around 4.30 range, making that bad for a RP
Ontop of which, his career BABIP is .274, and that has been evening out as time goes on (.302 BABIP past two years). Giving his career line a normal BABIP, that raises it to .245/.367/.373/.739 or a .337 wOBA. Or really, really bad.
Fuck him.
And no, he's not the worst pitcher in the pen. But he's also making the second most money. This move frees up about 700k. We can pay some dumbfuck the minimum to be Pinto-ish.
A forget who it was but a GM once said while firing a manager, "We can lose with him or without him." Same principle applies, yeah he good compared to what we have, but he's nothing special.
Honestly I would like to see Brett Sinkbeil get a chance. I know he hasn't performed amazing but I want to at least something out of a first round pick.
After typing all that I forgot about Ryan Tucker, what about him?
