Marlins Activate Pinto, Option VandenHurk

The Florida Marlins have activated left-handed pitcher Renyel Pinto off the 15-day disabled list and have optioned right-handed pitcher Rick VandenHurk to Triple-A New Orleans.
Pinto, who has been on the disabled list since May 15, was 0-1 with a 1.80 ERA in 3 games with the Jupiter Hammerheads during his rehab assignment.

Makes very little sense to me. With Pinto, you know what you are going to get and it is generally pretty mediocre. Why not let RVH get some innings in the pen to see if he can settle in there?

I guess I have never understood the teams fascination with Pinto. At different times he has been the go to guy in the pen, even during stretches when he wasnt pitching well at all.
