Again, unless we get multiple arms for him, why?

So Stanton is playing everyday... Who is sitting or platooning then? Maybin? Cody in center?

Have to be Maybin. CC is hitting again and I highly doubt we turn Cody into a bench player.

My guess is those 4 won't all be on the roster together after Tampa. Until then, we csn rotate the 4 with the DH and be fine. Maybin probably goes but you never know, we could be shopping Cody for a set up arm.

aren't we good in the setup role? unless were looking for setup men to get to our setup men?

We blew the game in the 7th inning. I would not say we are "good."

Teams usually have more than one.

well maybe Hurk becomes that other guy.. even tho I was hoping we would keep him stretched out incase of injury.. but when the cupboard is bare.

I don't see how they can deal Cody for a bullpen arm. I think they need him in the line-up right now. You can't depend on Maybin at this point. Yeah he could come around, but he has been very inconsistent. To get a decent 7th inning guy I think they would have to think about dealin someone like Cousins, Peterson, or some kind of pitching prospect.

I love the idea of dealing Cody for a bullpen arm, provided it's not a LOOGY type of arm that's only here for the remainder of 2010. Cody's super cool and all, but he's not a part of the long term plan. If Stanton comes in and rakes, and Cogs keeps his hitting up, then shipping Cody off for a legit 8th inning guy would be great, especially if the 8th inning guy can be here for more than a year.

I think people are undervaluing Cody's importance to this team. There aren't many guys who can play all 3 OF positions very well and give you an .800+ OPS every year in this league.

The other problem is, a team who is going to want Cody is going to be a contending team most likely. I don't know how many contending teams want to give up quality set-up relievers.

The best bet for getting another bullpen arm is to trade a prospect for one to a team who has fallen out of the race, like they did in 03'. Most guys available aren't going to be the type that are still under club control or signed to long term deals...

I feel as if we should of waited until the trade deadline to bring up Stanton, as unpopular as that sounds. Let's say we are "out of it" by then. Then we trade Uggla for prospects. This allows us to move Coghlan to second base.

                                C: Baker/Paulino
                                1B: Gaby Sanchez
                                2B: Chris Coghlan
                                3B: Jorge Cantu
                                SS: Hanley Ramirez
                                LF: Mike Stanton
                                CF: Cameron Maybin
                                RF: Cody Ross

We also have to think about space for Morrison later on in the year.
