This really was an amazing game. If Maybin makes that catch in CF, I wonder how long Manuel would've let Halladay go?

Coghlan watched ball 4 be called strike 3 as the first batter off Halladay.

I wanted a hit so bad.

I almost didn't go to this game for several reasons. You have no idea what an understatement that is. 'Almost didn't' as in it was 6:15 PM and I was thinking about what I would wear to a party I was invited to.

Innings one through five were a regular game. The sixth and seventh were frustrating. The eighth inning was painful. That last inning was surreal. My knees were weak/shakey (apparently not the only one!) and my heart was pounding HARD. I didn't celebrate. I gave him his applause. I had a hard time finding my car.

On the way out everyone and their mother was on the phone telling someone what had just happened. I was halfway to the aforementioned party when the enormity of what I had just witnessed hit me. (After some reflection as a baseball fan and not just a Marlins fan.) Then Glenn Geffner started reading off the other perfect games.

Only twenty fucking people have done this. Twenty. Perfect games have numerical titles. No hitters are just called no hitters. There have only been two more perfect games than people to orbit the moon. There have been more US presidents than perfect games. Something like .00000000005% of the world's population has witnessed one live. There have been well over 120,000 ML games since 1870 and only TWENTY have been perfect games. I was there. Holy shit.

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect..._perfect_games

I will never miss out on a game I have tickets for. I would have never forgiven myself.

Lastly, Phillies fans are almost as classy as Mets fans.

We are so bad, but at least the year is going to end in a pile.

He was filthy and the umpire was calling pitches a foot off the plate. They should have figured by the 7th inning they have to hack at anything close with 2 strikes.

Technically we scored Friday night but it was an error so really we've gone 18 innings without scoring.

and with Moyer throwing today, I don't like our chances to score many/if any runs

Also what is it with Florida teams and perfect games? TB has it happen last year and this year and now the Marlins!

Technically the phillies didn't score yesterday, so we should still be playing by this logic, right?

Sure, why not. Phillies offense was in quite the slump coming into this series as well.

Even though Philly only scored one unearned run they banged out 7 hits last night.

                              Because he dominates us lately?

Marlins actually hit Moyer pretty well now. I retract this statement if the Marlins get b2b perfect gamed.
