  • Beat the Streak : Prospect of the Day : Logan Morrison

So each day, we'll be picking a different Marlins organizational player in the "Beat the Streak" game on MiLB.com. If the batter gets a hit, the streak continues. It's fairly easy to follow and we'll make the rules that you can only use a player every 10 days or so.

MiLB record: 69, Joe Wilhoit, Wichita Witches, 1919
MLB record: 56, Joe DiMaggio, New York Yankees, 1941
    SoFla's record: 2
    Yesterday's pick: Emilio Bonifacio
    Result: 0/4 bb
    Current Streak: 0

Our streak ended at 2 last night as Emilio Bonifacio failed to get a hit in 5 plate appearances. We get back to a real prospect tonight with Logan Morrison. The slugging first baseman just got off the DL a few nights ago. In 44 at bats in the PCL, he's hitting .295/.385/.568. Tonight the Zephyrs face former Orioles prospect Radhames Liz and the Portland Beavers. Liz is 4-1 with a 3.19era and has given up just 32 hits in 36.2 innings of work.
