Tim Wood Up, Chris Leroux placed on DL

Marlins recalled RHP Tim Wood from Triple-A New Orleans.

Wood posted a 7.27 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over eight appearances for the Fish before being sent to the minors on May 4. Since then, he's allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings with the Zephyrs (4.26 ERA).

Anybody else think Jay Buente should have been called up instead of Wood?

A little bit as he has been pitching better in AAA, but Wood has MLB experience and is still only going to get mop up. I'd give Wood the shot over 3 appearances and see how he responds before resorting to another guy.

I would have went with Buente but I can't say I've seen him pitch and I expect him to make his debut sometime this year.
