The Marlins will have a local celebrity on hand to help them celebrate their rebranding. The team, which will change its name to the Miami Marlins, will have celebrated rap artist and South Florida native Pitbull on hand Nov. 11 at the new ballpark as it unveils its new logo and uniforms.
Pitbull, whose given name is Armando Christian Perez, grew up in the area and named his debut album M.I.A.M.I., short for Money Is A Major Issue. Pitbull hosts a Spanish-language show on cable network Mun2, and will perform in a private concert when the Marlins stage their unveiling.
