I would leave the colors and uniforms same as they are now and just update the hat with an M in place of the F. Dont fix what aint broke.

The Marlins aren't exactly a bunch that would say no teal just to turn around and include "Marlin blue"- DaftGod would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.Comment

New blue
Suppose I wouldn't mind a shift from teal to the Carolina or Cobalt blue. Still would represent South Florida.Comment

Another thing to consider about the rebrand. Patches are now standard on most MLB uniforms. The left sleeve is usually reserved for the alternate logo and the right for commemorative logos. The Marlins have never had an alternate logo on the left sleeve. The cap logo was used for several years but not last year.
Assuming the '12 unis have the alternate logo on the right there will be a few events to commemorate:
-New ballpark inaugural
-20th season
-15th anniversary of 1997 (least likely)
Last season the Twins had the same dilemma.

Right: Target Field patch
Road
Left: Primary logo
