Not completely sure where I read it, but Fredi apparently said Paulino can take over the starting job if he hits right handers well while Bake is out.

There's a whole lot of fail in that statement (as in, a player should never lose his starting job due to injury, that facilitates a lot of guys playing hurt and really hurting the team) but it's worth noting in case Ronny goes on an unexpected tear against RHP.

I don't think there is that much fail there. It clearly applies to only this situation where Baker has struggled and Paulino has played well. Uggla isn't going to get hurt and worry Barden may have his job when he gets back.

Because Barden can't take someone's job doesn't mean Ross/Gaby/Coghlan/Maybin can't lose theirs.

I have no problem with riding a hot bat, which would be in essence what we're doing, I do have a problem with basically saying you can capitalize off an injury and usurp the full job for yourself.
