In fairness, Pinto had been pretty successful against Donkey

I mean, you can't let Badenhop face him. So who is it, Pinto or Jones?

I'd rather swallow cyanide, but you have to go with Pinto. Thankfully, Fredi pulled him immediately.

Two weeks ago Fredi sticks with him and we lose by 5 instead of 1.

Ya, no problem bringing in Pinto there
              --------------------
              vs Dunn before today:

              2/14 1bb 7k .143/.200/.214

              absolutely the right move

I wouldn't trust Pinto with the bases load if Dunn were 0-56. I'd take my chances with Hensley or Sanches.

The problem with Pinto is that 20% of his career PAs against end up with either a BB, HBP, or WP. That's my problem with using him there.

I don't think Pinto's as bad as many do, but that's not a good usage of him.
                  --------------------
Also, Pinto's career line against LHB is .253/.385/.394 (.778)

What's hilarious is that Paulino was setup outside for the change-up and Pinto missed the target by 3 feet.

I wouldn't have had a problem with the move had there been two men on base, but you don't bring in a guy with severe control issues with the bases juiced. I'm not going to kill Fredi for this because it's not like our bullpen is ripe with options anyway, but it wasn't a very good move.

ya'll woulda torched Fredi if he brings in a righty

or if he brings in Jones and Jones gets blasted

Nah not really. I'm not even really torching him for bringing in Pinto because, again, he is limited in terms of options. I'm just saying it wasn't a great move given the circumstances.

                            This isn't the other place.

                              please

Fredi gets absolutely rocked by some here if Pinto isn't brought in there. He owns/ed Dunn and Dunn struggles against lefties.
