We've been pretty hard on the Marlins' clean up hitter, and for good reason, but we've ignored the glove a bit. This is unfortunate, since it would give us yet more reason to bash Cantu.

On the season, Cantu ranks overall as the 30th best 3B in the league, with a -4 runs saved score. He’s ranked as an “A-“ on bunts, 5th in the league, and ranks as average or better on ground balls hit right at him or to his left.

However, he has cost the team 10 runs on balls to his right, leaving him at a -4 overall despite being average or better at the other aspects.

He's really not contributing at all right now, basically.

Cantu is definitely one of those guys that gets piled on hard when he struggles and then when he performs well he gets very little fellating on here (compared to the Cody's and the Baker's and the Uggla's). There is a stack of evidence proving he's been awful but I felt it had to be said.
