Not long after watching him strike out seven batters during a three-inning stint in Friday’s loss to the Nationals, teammates consoled a tearful Clay Hensley in the Marlins clubhouse. A team official would confirm only that a family member passed way, but declined to offer specifics out of respect for Hensley’s privacy. It’s unclear whether Hensley, who resides in San Diego but has family in the Houston area, would take a bereavement leave.
