On the one hand, i want to say I'm a little concerned about Maybin, but on the other hand, he's three games removed from a .360 OBP. You have to both love and hate that about the first month of the season.

That being said, he does need to start walking more and striking out less.

One potentially meaningless thing to consider:

11 K, 0 BB in 30 PA since he hit his first homer of the season.

Completely arbitrary, of course, but I'm bored.

I don't know if it's the reason we let him go for the 9th or not, but JJ set a career high in K's (12) and a career low in hits allowed (3). Sometimes it's doing the right thing to let a guy get to some personal milestones.

That said, both of them are pretty meaningless and I assume somewhere in what figures to hopefully be a long and successful career he'll pass both of them.
