Did we have a different road trip from the one in which we went 4-5? How was this a terrible road trip?

Didn't we get like 6 or 7 quality starts from our starters on this trip?

I don't think there's anything wrong with calling this a terrible trip, nor do I think there's anything wrong with calling this a fine trip, it all depends on your expectations of this team.

So when does Fredi bat Gaby higher in the lineup? Cody had a good day but Gaby continues to rake.

          Maybin
          Baker
          Ramirez
          Cantu
          Uggla
          Sanchez
          CC
          Ross

          Just for a little bit?

More like when does Stanton take Cody's job. 4/4 2 homer day for him.

BC should get extended playing time before Stanton is called up.

I want Gaby hitting 2nd for a little while.

Also, it'd be cool if Hanley would start hitting for some more XBHs. I have no doubt he will, but maybe he'll read this post and get mad.

Stanton should go to AAA before he comes to the majors. If he's still mashing AA at the end of May, promote him to AAA and then see what happens.

I expect the front office will be inclined to rush him to the majors, but Stanton could probably use some AAA time. With some AAA ABs, he's more likely to hit the ground running once he's called up.

Normally, I'd agree, but he's putting up that unconscious scenario we were throwing about in March: "well, if he goes and hits .400 then he comes up."

8 homers in 17 games, an OPS that looks like a zip code and a 1:1 BB:K ratio.

It's almost to the point where if you don't promote him you run the risk of the boredom factor.

That's fine, but it's pretty clear there isn't much left for him to do at AA.

Also, Logan's OPSing .983 at AAA (.300/.383/.600) in 40 ABs. His ground ball rates are still shitty for a supposed power hitter (42.9%, with an 22.4% LD rate, obviously a small sample size), but he's still hitting for power with the shitty ground ball rates and has a 6/6 K/BB.

So, if Gaby keeps hitting for another month, and Logan keeps hitting for another month, and Stanton keeps hitting for another month, we could have a fun little dilemma going on.

That would be a fun trade deadline.

I don't think Stanton will see AAA. All of our universally accepted top prospects have skipped AAA to fill in a hole at the ML club since Cabs and D-Train. AAA seems to be the last stop for guys like Willingham and Sanchez.

I think eventually it solves itself.

CC is still OPSing below .650 by May 15? Say hello to your new LFer, Logan Morrison.

Cody is still struggling in June? Hey, Mike Stanton!

Someone offers you > B+ pitching prospect for Dan Uggla in July? CC is at 2B and Logan is your new LFer!

If Cody is the one who has to be replaced (trade, injury, sucking) that's the only way we see Stanton, I think.

Well, I think that was because Albuquerque was essentially useless for the development of prospects. I think we like NOLA a lot more, and I think we'll likely see him spend some time there, as I think he's a lot less likely than Morrison to get called up.

I'd say there's a less than 10% chance we ever see Logan in our OF.

Trading Uggla is assuming we're out of it?

There is no way this front office trades a certainty like Uggla at the deadline to plug in an unknown in leftfield for the stretch run.
